Don't get me wrong, I love organic grass-fed meat SO MUCH and I eat it often. This may be the case for some of you, too! However, sometimes my tummy and liver need a well-deserved break from breaking down so much animal protein!

Cue our beautiful turmeric buffalo cauliflower wings. The perfect side or main dish for any day of the week that hits the spot! Perhaps even a great appetizer to bring to the next Super Bowl party? You'll have people saying "Seriously, it's not chicken?". You'll also have people sneakily getting their veggies in....Oh what a glorious dish this is!

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 large head cauliflower

  • 1 cup water

  • 3/4 cup almond flour

  • 1/2 teaspoon of turmeric

  • Crack pepper

  • Paleo Nick Garlic Salt Seasoning [or just do 1 tablespoon garlic powder, 1 tablespoon onion powder, 1/4 teaspoon salt]

  • 1 cup Frank's Red Hot Sauce

  • OPTIONAL: 1 tablespoon ghee melted, Primal Kitchen Avocado Oil Ranch Dressing, Cooking oil [I used coconut oil]

 INSTRUCTIONS
  1. Preheat the oven to 450 degrees F.

  2. Rub coconut oil on bottom of pan.

  3. Wash and cut cauliflower.

  4. In a large bowl, add water, seasoning, flour and Whisk until well combined.

  5. Add the cauliflower to the batter in the bowl, and toss to combine.

  6. Remove the pieces of cauliflower and tap off the excess batter.

  7. Place on the prepared baking sheet [I did not do this but if you want it crispier, make sure they are not touching each other]

  8. Bake for 10-15 minutes. Flip them over and bake for 10 more minutes, until golden brown.

I did not do this tonight but seriously, if you’re “feelin yourself” and you want to impress guests, do the following:

9. While the cauliflower are baking, make the hot sauce/butter mixture. Melt the butter in a saucepan on the stove over medium heat. Once melted, add the hot sauce and stir. Set aside.

10. Pour the buffalo/vegan butter sauce on each cauliflower wing then return to the pan.

11. For ultimate crispiness, put them back in the oven for 20 minutes.
